4The Atlantis was the perfect hotel for our needs in Vienna this July. We were a family of three staying in Vienna for 2 days en route to Slovenia. I got a 3 bed room, with A/C and non-smoking. The room was a bit small (and so was the shower!) but that was expected. We had a nice rear-located room that was very quiet. The front desk was helpful, getting us museum times and stuff like that. The hotel is located right in the same building as a large mall with a grocery store. This was wonderful for us.... We got in very late at night, and found a nice food kiosk still open inside the mall for dinner. The next morning we got up and went to the grocery store for some juice and food-stuffs. I highly recommend doing this over the hotel's breakfast or buying drinks from the wetbar. For Americans traveling in Europe, the price of everything is sky-high. But if you shop at the grocery store for simple foodstuffs, you can save a lot of money. But be warned to have a decent amount of Euros on you, as the two grocery stores in the mall only accept Austrian credit cards, not Visa or Mastercard.
There is also a computer to use in the lobby with free internet and I do believe that there was wireless in the lobby available for a fee. We brought two laptops but didn't crack them open once, just used the computer they had available. I just wish there was a time-limit on the computer usage, because I waited 1.5 hours for a guy to get off one morning!
The hotel is also located right near a metro stop. We highly recommend using the metro system in Vienna, it is so easy and convienent! Everything is within easy reach with that metro stop so near to the hotel. We did take a taxi from the airport to our hotel when we arrived, and that was veerrrryyy expensive!
Overall, we really enjoyed our small sojourn at the Hotel Atlantis. It met all of our needs (quiet, cool, no-smoke, comfortable beds, good location) and then some.
