The rooms are good, although there is no air conditioning something significant in the summer. The transport system is only a 10 mins walk away offering opportunities to explore the city or to travel further afield (eg Bratislavia or Budapest) via the two train stations located nearby. The rooms were clean and well proportioned.. Read review

Calm location in traditional worker and small business area of Vienna. Easy public transport to all major Vienna sites by bus connecting to nearby metro and railway lines. The booked double bed room was in fact rather an appartment than a hotel room, equipped with a small kitchen corner (refrigerator, cooking plate, dishes, sink), with a large entry area and bath room. Very kind reception at check-in, time tables for bus connection were explained and copies given. Art decoration which was the theme of the hotel was well dosed but not too spectacular.. Read review

I enjoyed the hotel location in a working class neighbourhood. For breakfast, we went to the local excellent restaurant and had a coffee & "semmel" bun for $3. The hotel staff were very helpful and knowledgeable. They assisted with the local bus called 59A which is nearby.. Read review

Our room was spotless and well appointed. The lobby is chic and sophisticated for what they are charging. The best part of the stay were the breakfasts, that were included in our rom price. The staff puts out an incredible and sophisticated spread of deliciousness that is unlike anything I have ever experienced at a moderately priced hotel. However it is very close to the a bus stop (2 blocks) and if you don't mind riding the buses. The closest train / metro stop is too far to walk, so we took a cab to and from on arrival and departure. If you are looking for a reasonably priced hotel that will exceed your expectations, and don't mind a short (5 minute) bus ride to get to the more touristy and sophisticated parts of Vienna, then the Golden Tulip is an excellent choice..
