lovely Hotel in the heart of Vienna. Good stuff and good breakfast. Parking is a problem since they do not have their own parking lots.

Quiet with Great Location

Our stay at Hotel Austria was better than expected. The room (316) was large with a roomy bathroom. Clean and quiet with impressive decor. The front staff were very knowledgeable and helpful. The chamber breakfast staff were attentive and friendly. The location could not be beat. Good Viennese restaurants and pubs in close proximity. A Spar grocery store with reasonable priced wine just across the street. Post Office also in area. The hot dog stands sell great bratwurst and beer. The Hotel also rents bikes that are cheaper than in town. Lots of walking here with the major mall just around the corner. There is a tram that runs around the city to all the sites. Don`t be surprized that nobody pays to use as tickets are not checked. I asked the driver about this and he said "good question, not my problem". If you do purchase a ticket pick one up at the Tabac stores that are all around the city. A great small city that is known for operas and shows. For those just wanting the feel of a new place, one day or two only needed. Not a lot to do but certainly a clean, safe and friendly city.

Fantastic 3 Star hotel with 5 star service

After reading through the various comments and the rating on trip advisor I was sure this would live up to expectations and it did. When we arrived and checked in, I couldn't work out why it was so nice as it was basic. then it struck me.... The 3 star hotel decor etc whilst old fashioned was all clean quality and in keeping with the old town area where it's situated. Everything is perfect and basic but perfect. The breakfast is great , try the muesli and fresh yogurt with fruit. Then a boiled egg croissant etc . Clean is the name of the game here and with a smile. I have been to Italy , France etc but Vienna is the gem of Europe. This hotel is smack bang in the middle of it. Quiet but central. The Hotel has it's own wine list with local wine from the Burgenland region and really reasonable. but guess what ,excellent quality. Try the Chardonnay. !!! Finally I would say to the Hotel ,Please dont let your service drop !! Keep this outstanding hotel and keep the very reasonable price ! Thank you from Mr & Mrs Smith (Co Antrim ,Ireland)
