Very suitable for business use and obviously what they are used to, though we were there as tourists. Excellent facilities; very clean, staff all spoke English, very polite and helpful. Room was fine and trendy but nice. The breakfast was excellent and varied. The bar was vastly, vastly overpriced and far too expensive even for just one as an experience for the sake of it (though regretably we did). Distance from town centre wasn't bad - 10 minutes walk or so. Not quite as close to metro as we'd have liked (the rain chucked it down when we arrived and the five minute walk left us soaked!). Nonetheless, we would definitely stay here again.

We stayed at this lovely hotel for three nights recently. Although it doesn't look impressive from the outside, you're in for a treat on the inside. I would call it a modern, designer hotel. It was a former coach station for travellers from Vienna to Triest. Some of the original lines of the building have been incorporated into the new one. The hotel staff could not have been more friendly or helpful. They all speak good English and probably several other languages too. After our first night, we were moved because the locking mechanism on the door was faulty. It was worth the inconvenience because we were up-graded to a Junior Suite which had a lot more space and comforts. The Hotel has particularly good sound-proofing and double glazing, so your peace and comfort is guaranteed. Breakfasts were excellent and service was polite and efficient. They will even clean your shoes overnight for free!) Our only negative comment would be the expensive price of the drinks in the bar and food from the restaurant. Prohibitive if you are on a budget, as we were. TIP: Just around the corner is the Naschmarkt where you can eat and drink much more cheaply than the centre of Vienna which caters for "loaded" tourists. We would recommend this hotel to anyone on a short break to Vienna. (The transport system in Vienna is second to none.Buy a 3 day pass and make as many journeys by tram, bus or underground as you wish.)

Das Triest überzeugt mit seinen inneren Werten. An einer schmucklosen und verkehrsreichen Zufahrtsstraße zum Ring gelegen, muss es das auch. Wir hatten das Glück, eines der wenigen (super großen) Zimmer mit begehbarer Dachterasse zu ergattern. Die muss man sich allerdings mit den anderen Glücklichen teilen. Da das Publikum (Musiker, Designer und ähnlich angenehm Verrückte) aber recht angenehm war, machte das nichts. Die Betten sind ausgezeichnet, die Bäder schön und groß. Das Triest überzeugt mit Details wie gerahmten Bildern und frischen Blumen im Bad oder Molton-Brown-Toilettenartikeln. Frühstücken lässt sich im Sommer im schönen Innenhof unter Olivenbäumen- das Buffet ist ausgezeichnet und abwechslungsreich. Ebenfalls ein Hit ist die kleine, aber feine Bar! Tipp: Der Mojito ist ausgezeichnet. Für Wiener Verhältnisse etwas zickiges Personal, aber in Ordnung. Einziger Nachteil: Das Preis-/Leistungsverhältnis ist angesichts der Lage nicht optimal.

OK but not a Wow

Read about this in Hip hotels so had quite high expectations. In fact it is fairly ordinary - clean and comfortable but not cutting edge. Here are the headlines: Good desk staff. Excellent restaurant tho' skeleton menu (and staff) on 25/26 December. Below average location. Limited facilities. Do not be seduced by the website and book tickets for the Vienna Inperial Orchestra. We paid E87 per ticket and found it to be an amazingly amateur and disappointing occasion
