Hotel Carina - Vienna, Austria

Receptionist let us wait for 10 minutes before we could get the room (we were early though) and started smoking during this time. The Room was extremely small and quite pricey for this. It didn't seem to us that the room was (vacuum-)cleaned yet when we came. The location of the hotel is almost at the border of the city and one has to walk about 8 minutes from the nearest station. No wonder it is so quiet there. Right after check-in we were asked to pay the bill in cash when we will check out (four days later) because the credit-card machine wouldn't work... Although we didn't like the hotel, it's price and location at all. The people (even the receptionist) overall were friendly and helpful.

The map on the web page suggests that the hotel is close to the "Schottentor". From here, however, it is 15 minutes by tram and 5 minutes by foot to reach the hotel. You only realize this when having a city map of Vienna. There are many good hotels in Vienna, this one is not to be recommended.

Das Zimmer war total verdreckt. Der Teppichboden wurde in den zwei Tagen, die wir dort waren nicht gereinigt und wimmelte dieser nur so von Ameisen.

Horrible neighbourhood.only one restaurant in the vicinity. Room without telephone Public area (1room)most of the time occupied by one chinese relative of the owners(?) Finally they tried to charge me ?86/night instead of ? 76 .
