Piries Hotel - Edinburgh, United Kingdom     

I initially booked a room at this hotel for 3 nights. After the first night, I had just about enough ! The problems were : the toilets & phones were not working (nothing happened when I complained about this to reception), unclean room & unfriendly night staff who did not speak a lot of English. All in all it was not a very pleasant experience.

We wanted to see Edinburgh, and found The Piries through expedia. It was very good value for money and included breakfast which was important to us as we hate the morning search! Our early flight ment we arrived at the hotel at 10am, the staff were friendly and welcoming, we could leave our bags in the bar area until our room was ready at 2pm. We could also leave our bags all day on our last day as our flight wasn't until 8pm, which was great. Our room was very small, no bath, just a tiny shower and a slightly unrelabable toilet. However the bed was confortable and the tv/kettle etc all worked fine. The room was very quiet, except for the 1am fire alarm......turned out to be nothing! Breakfast was quite basic, 2 cereal options some ham and cheese and a few crossiants heading a bit stale. Plenty of toast tho, It did for us. Overall it was just what we needed for our city break, we were out all day and just needed a place to sleep. It is in a fantastic location for the airport bus and a nice walk into the city centre. Thats it tho, not really a relaxing holiday hotel, but just what we needed.
