Bristol - Vienna, Austria     

Very nice, classic European hotel. While everything is well done and up to date, the rooms are on the small side and bathrooms are too small (would describe as close to tiny). Location is within easy walking distance to many central Vienna sights, including Hofburg Palace and St. Stephen's cathedral. A little longer walk will bring you to Belvedere Palace. Main "walking street" (closed to motor vehicles) is just around the corner and Opera House is across the street. Food is top quality, and while breakfast buffet is a little light on choices, all items are fresh and of highest quality. We were given room on fifth floor. Better to avoid if possible because 5th floor is an addition on the roof that means that most of your view is of the roof. You must stand high to see anything except the roof.

My husband and I stayed at the Hotel Bristol on a trip to see Austria and Germany. We had stayed here for two nights when we stopped in Vienna. It's old from the outside and you can tell that it's also old from the inside but it has been renovated. The rooms are decorated in a traditional classic style but they are very comfortable and very nice. The hotel is also in a great location and within walking distance to the main tourist attractions. There are also a lot of stores nearby for some good shopping. Overall, we really enjoyed the hotel.
