I felt obliged to write this review having seen that some time ago it appears to have had a poor review which simply stuns me. My wife and I are looking forward to a return visit when ever we can arrange it. Ravello itself is not for persons who may have any difficulty with walking up and down steep inclines. The Bonadies however is the most friendly family hotel we have ever stayed in. Value for money it deserves 5 stars. The reception staff right down to the chamber maids were so friendly we were not surprised to encounter one guest undertaking his 15th annual hoiliday. Being rugby enthusiasts we were even allowed to watch NZ v Engalnd in the owners private room (although we wished we hadn't) The food is typical local cuisine. No English breakfasts but we soon found how to make the most of "toasted cheese and ham with a boiled egg".

The Hotel Bonadies is lovely. We paid extra for a front sea view and balcony which is well worth it for the stunning view. The room was quite small but clean and comfortable with a decent bathroom, and clean sheets and towels every day. All the staff were helpful, especially the girl on the desk who went out of her way to tell us about the village and give us a map etc. The food was good, though dinner a bit all the same and perhaps too bland for some people. The house wine was 12 euros a bottle (the red nicer than the white). Breakfast was good - you can boil eggs and there is a wide selection of juice, cereals, yoghurts, fresh fruit, cheese, bread, meat etc etc.
The hotel is excellent value for money, the staff are all very obliging and I'd definitely go there again. Just beware that in the village bars and shops they do try and rip you off by short changing or overcharging you. Ask the prices first!
