Ca' Fontanea - Venice, Italy     

Ca' Fontanea was an excellent find in Venice. It is a hotel with 6 rooms and our room was great. It was roomy, very clean, and had a spacious private bathroom. Compared to other hotels in Venice it was a great value. It was very easy to find with the hotel directions and close to everything you want to visit in beautiful Venice. The staff is extremly helpful and very nice. They even email you before to make sure you know how to get there and if you have any special requests. Since it is a small hotel, the service is great and they help you with anything you need. I would defenitly come back here on my next visit to Venice. The vaporetto stop is right by the hotel. The breakfast is your standard Italian breakfast, but it was good. Loved this place.

Having decided to go at short notice accommodation in our price bracket was limited, and so Ca' Fontanea was a real find. Situated in a quiet, peaceful backwater in Canareggio, in a converted house with a very modern interior. Good access to public transport, and St Mark's square within walking distance. The area was a lively, residential area, with plenty of local bars and restaurants for those wanting somewhere less touristy. The hotel's 6 bedrooms were clean and bright, and the staff went out of their way to be helpful. Breakfast was basic but adequate, but then we werent staying at the Ritz. We would definitely return to this hotel tomorrow!
