This was our 2nd stay at the Landhaus Poll and were not disappointed. Peter Poll the proprietor is so very friendly and helpful, nothing is a problem for him. We were a group of 6 (4 adults and 2 children) and booked independantly with the hotel etc. Peter organised the transfers for us from Munich to St Johann, which went without a hitch. The rooms are very warm and comfortable and the power shower was fantastic after a hard days skiing. The food is excellent, could not fault it. A 4 course meal including salad buffet is just what the doctor ordered after a day in the fresh mountain air. When the kids wanted ice cream instead of the evening desert this wasn't a problem either.
As for the skiing. OK it didn't snow much the week we were there but all credit to the piste maintenance team for keeping the piste in such good condition considering the lack of fresh snow. There were several runs closed but this didn't stop us skiing everyday. It was lovely in the morning but the slopes became slushy by mid-afternoon. One day we caught the free ski bus to Fieberbrunn which is a higher resort and your ski-pass covers the whole area. It also covers Waidring, but we didn't try this area. All in all an excellent holiday considering we were expecting limited conditions. Would thoroughly recommend the hotel and the resort for all levels of skier.
