Hotel Sacher Salzburg - Salzburg, Austria     

For my birthday my husband and I stayed at the Sacher and it was a true remarkable experience. When we got there everybody was so nice to us. After having stayed at many other high-end hotels, I was very impressed by how much attention to detail the entire hotel staff worked -they even noticed my birthday and got us two complimentry glasses of champagne. The room was beautifully designed with the beds beeing very comfortable. We also took the opportunity to taste the sacher torte in the sacher cafe and it was worthwile-we even got one shipped back home for the family.

I stayed here for 3 nights the week before christmas, the hotel cost a staggering £770 for 3 nights, a treat for my wife before christmas. The hotel is immaculate and the location is fantastic right in the heart of the city and walkable to every possible attraction. We had 2 faults with the hotel, firstly there is no ramp for a babies push chair or for disables access, and also half of the time the door men where nowhere to be seen to assist in carrying the pram up and down the steps, we also found the front desk staff to be somewhat formal and regimented and disinterested in their guests needs. The breakfast and dinning room were superb but on reflection I would not stay here again as better value can be had for what I paid. Salzburg by the way is a fantastic city and the surrounding areas are beautiful.
