Renaissance Congress Center - Salzburg, Austria 

Renaissance Salzburg was perfect in everyway I wanted it to be. If you want a large room with a "real" kingsize bed (Checked) Early check in was possible! Close to Central Station (if arriving by train Ideal! 5 min tops walking Lots of dining options to fit every budget. A lovely walk to the old city (Come on you are in Salzburg the walk to the historic city center is beautiful with every where ya turn you would go aw) First hotel in Europe I stayed in with a nice small POOL! (Open from 6am to 11 pm) Very nice after a long day of sightseeing. The gym is small but got enough equipments to do a full body work out. The Hotel staff, professional in every way they can be. After staying in a three star hotel in Munich. I was pampered with Renaissance Salzburg. And for the finishing touch, on the day of checking out it was my Birthday! The reception staff notice this and congratulated me with a firm handshake. Truly impressed! While the hotel does not offer a romantic view of the Alps. It would be a great start or end vacation stay! Thank you Renaissance Salzburg & Salzburg. My short break ended Fantastic!

Thoroughly enjoyed the stay here; as one reviewer mentioned, the hotel is deceiving from the outside. The rooms are huge by European standards; 2 Queen beds with heavenly linens! It is as advertised; easy to find and a short walk from the train station, even for a 3 yr old pulling a suitcase. Was a bit of a walk but you could get to the major tourist sights easily from here. The breakfast was abundant; many options (eggs, meats, cold cuts, cereals, yogurt, pastries and breads, along with made-to-order eggs, waffles, etc) and never saw an empty platter. The staff was helpful and pleasant but not obtrusive. The room w/breakfast deal is a STEAL. The common areas of the hotel are a bit 'modern' but clean and comfortable. The hotel is quiet and the ice machines are a nice touch. One word of advice: if you'd like a soda, beer or snack in the room - get it before you go back to the hotel! Nowhere nearby to buy one, other than the pricey bar and the way overpriced in -room mini bars. Yes, the pool is small but there are towels provided, a nice seating area, and it was more than adequate for 4 kids. Would highly recommend for families traveling with kids, due to the enormous size of the rooms, breakfast, and proximity to sights and train station.
