Stayed at the Unterhof for a skiing holiday in January 2007, and had a great time. The hotel is family run, with the owner, Marcus, taking a real interest in the guests, and running a programme of events. This includes a ski safari, where Marcus takes you to other ski areas, and leads you down as many red runs as he can fit in. It's not for beginners, but is a great way of discovering new skiing areas.
The standard rooms we were in were fine; the bar and lounge area was excellent; the food in the restaurant was fantastic. There's also a very nice pool, as well as a sauna and steam room.
Filzmoos itself is a pretty village. The Hotel Unterhof is on the edge of the village, but is closer to the lifts than many of the hotels nearer the centre. The skiing in Filzmoos is a bit limited, but other areas such as Flachau and Flachauwinkle are only a taxi ride away.
