Hotel Seerose - Fuschl am See, Austria 

I was about to book a weeks holiday with Inghams through my travel agent at the Seewinkle hotel in Fuschl until I happened on this site the night before and read the reviews of the Seewinkle hotel. I changed my mind and booked the Seerose instead. What good fortune! This is the best hotel we have stayed in. We arrived four hours late after evening meals had finished, but a platter of meats & cheeses, bread and soft drinks had been left in our room. There was a chocolate each on our beds with our towels - a nice touch. The room was spacious, immaculately clean and in very good condition. The safe was an electronic one meaning no euro a day for a key saving money straight away. The ammenities were very good. A small heated pool, gymnasium and sauna - all free to use. Everywhere was clean and in very good order. The food was excellent. A good choice for the breakfast (though Austrian bacon is too salty!). Evening meals consisted of five courses - salad, starter, soup, a choice ot three main courses and desert. However, vegetarians may struggle as only one choice was available each night. The Austrians' like their meat! The waiting staff and reception staff where a delight. Extremely polite, always attentive and helpful. The owner introduced herself to us on our first morning and her husband came to see each guest at night in the restaurant. The only minor let down was that on two occasions we waited a long time for our food. On the first evening in the restaurant we waited 45 minutes for our dessert. And one night other guests were waiting 20-25 minutes for their main courses. The owner was apologetic to us about the wait for the dessert and we had a glass of champagne the next night as an apology. Inghams guests had a free packed lunch available if wanted. This was great for taking on walks. The shops in Austria do not open as often as at home and our first day was an Austrian public holiday meaning no shops/cafes were open. So the packed lunch was very welcome. The Seerose occupies an excellent position on the side of the lake with a small beach and outdoor eating area. We can only heap praise on the hotel and Inghams - both companies giving us a first class, professional service - a refreshing change these days. We would recommend this hotel, Inghams and Fuschl to any one. Thank you for an excellent holiday.

From the moment we arrived - we had smiles on our faces. To find such a fantastic level of hospitality - we felt we had struck gold. Nothing was too much trouble. In fact you felt the staff were striving to anticipate your needs. I would recommend to all - we travelled with four children and they met our demanding expectations !!
