The Sami Plaza Hotel is a family run hotel located in the lively resort of Gumbet, directly on the beach and only 5 km away from the busy centre of Bodrum.
The hotel itself is surrounded by its own gardens. There are a choice of bars and restaurants on the beach, a long with a wide variety of water-sports. The hotel complex is made up of several Turkish style buildings which are adorned with trailing plants.
The hotel staff are both helpful and friendly and the rooms are comfortably furnished in typical Turkish style. It should be noted that the hotel is arranged on several levels.
The Hotel has an attractive swimming pool with sun terrace and lounge (free of charge). Sun loungers and mattresses are available on the beach. You can relax and enjoy the wonderful view of surrounding palm trees and small garden.
Hotel Sami has one of the best entertainment programs in the whole of the peninsula, with something for everyone. There is a wide variety of entertainment prepared for you, including Oriental snake dance shows; exotic cabaret shows; circus acrobat shows; belly dancing; and rock n roll, karaoke and traditional Turkish music nights.
During the day, you can relax in the traditional Turkish bath where you will enjoy a massage from experienced staff.

The Gumbet area is known for its nightlife, with bars and clubs complemented its many shops and restaurants.Nearby attractions include:
Myndos Gate (2 km) - large portions of this ancient gate remain intact, dating back to 364 BC.
Mausoleum of Halicarnassus (2.5 km) - a wonder of the ancient world, completed around 350 BC and largely destroyed by an earthquake in 1304, these fascinating ruins are an essential visit.
Bodrum Castle (3.5 km) - the castle of St. Peter is an impressive example of medieval architecture. Occupying nearly 2800 m² at its base, it is now home to a museum that includes exhibits of underwater archaeology.

First of all, Gumbet, brilliant weather, reasonable prices (not so cheap anymore) its all there. Sami beach hotel - we've been going for years and will be going again in September 2008. If you want a 5* hotel this is definately not, but the rooms are OK, you will always find something!! but there is so much on offer. The staff- brilliant, we were very well looked after especially by 'sexy pepsi' on the beach, the hotel is right on the beach and it is the best part of beach in Gumbet. There is entertainment every night, but the good thing is that everywhere is in walking distance, bar street is only minutes away. Food, prices are so reasonable that we tend to eat where we want and not just at the Sammi, but one place I must recommend is the MIRADON, from the front of the hotel look slightly left across the road and up, brilliant staff, brilliant views across the bay and food ,especially the steaks to die for. They are so friendly they looked after me when I had a bit of sun stroke.
Looking forward to our two weeks in September, sun and to see the friends we have made over the years, we have also booked the flights for june 2009. Recommend Gumbet, Sammi Beach and Miradon, but it probably will not suite everone. If you love the sun for a reasonably priced holiday then you will love it.

We are just back from a week in gumbet and stayed at Sami Beach Hotel.Upon arrival 3 of us (girls) checked into reception and were greated by a very laid back receptionist who placed us in a 2 bedded room and didin't seem to see the problem!!! He told us to wait 5 minutes please...and when we returned to the reception desk 6 hours later he was gone!!! and no sign of our bed.
We then complained to the new receptionist who placed us in a beautiful villa accross the road from Sami Beach Hotel-Sami Villas. From that moment on the holiday just got better and better. All of the staff at the Sami Beach (bar the recepotion staff) are very friendly and more than helpful. Rooms were cleaned everyday. The Sami BBQ on the beach is great fun and we have already booked another week in Gumbet in September. It was a great holiday and the night life is fantastic!!!!
