Best Western Hotel Residence Italia - Quartu Sant'Elena, Italy 

I stayed with members of my family at the Best Western Residence Italia for 4 nights earlier this month. We knew on booking that it was out of the centre of Cagliari, and it really is in the middle of a residential area with little in terms of restaurants or nightlife on the doorstep. However, it is a 1km straight (if potentially dangerous with a lack of real pavement) walk down to Poetto and some of the best beaches and cleanest sea I've ever seen. The walk has the added bonus of taking you past the lagoon where the flamingoes feed! The hotel itself was quiet, clean and quite new, from the look of it. Staff on reception and in the breakfast room were friendly and helpful, and we really could not fault the hotel at all. One downside is that the buses to the beach if you don't fancy the walk and into Cagliari for sightseeing are few and far between. If you don't have a car, be prepared to spend around €20 for a taxi into the centre of the city.

Il Best Western Hotel Italia Residence è un tre stelle discreto. Il personale è gentile, la colazione è buona e varia e con la possibilità di scegliere anche varia frutta fresca e yogurt. Le camere sono ampie e abbastanza nuove, come peraltro il bagno, confortevoli e dotate di frigobar. La tv dispone anche di abbonamento Sky. Qualcuna ha anche il balcone. Unico neo i muri di cartapesta: si sente tutto. Anche la mancanza di indicazione del piano uscendo dall'ascensore può causare disorientamento. Il prezzo è tuttavia contenuto e può rappresentare una buona opzione. Non dispone di ristorante ma ve ne è uno di fronte non malvagio e dai prezzi contenuti, se si passa sopra all'approssimazione del servizio.
