Best Western Hotel Weisses Kreuz - Bregenz, Austria 

Thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this hotel and would definitely stay again. Staff very friendly and helpful. Having read previous reviews, it would appear that the hotel has recently been refurbished. The bedroom were bright and nicely decorated and have flat screen TVs. The hotel is in a central location, but the windows are very well glazed so you don't hear any noise from the street. Breakfast selection wasn't enormous, but my husband and I thoroughly enjoyed what was available - in fact we said it was one of the best we've had. Only small complaint we had was that the first night we stayed in the hotel the bathroom was enormous (we thought a nice big walk-in shower would have been good to fill some of the space!). Anyway, shower was over the bath, but the glass screen was too small whch meant the floor got soaked every time we showered. Second time we stayed in a different room which had a shower cubicle, so no flooding problems! Like I say, only a small complaint really, rest of the stay was great and we would definitely recommend this hotel. Once last point in response to the review from Oct 2007 about wheelchair accessability, the hotel now has a ramp from street level into the hotel so they seem to have solved that problem.

This hotel is located in the heart of Bregenz which makes it convenient to restaurants and shops, but I wouldn’t recommend it if you are just passing through because there is a lot of traffic congestion between the hotels location and the highway. Finding parking around the hotel is difficult as well and my husband had to park in a lot across the street. The hotel itself must have thin walls because we could hear everyone around us from TV’s to doors slamming to walking above us. The room was mostly clean, but it was rundown and tattered. Actually, the entire hotel just felt old and tired. Breakfast was included in the price and was OK. Bottom line is that we wouldn’t stay here again. I have a mobility issue and need to use a electric scooter to get around so to those of you with mobility issues as well, you should note that while this hotel does have an interior elevator, it is not accessible from the street. There are about 5 stairs from street level to reception and the elevator so don’t be fooled by any rhetoric that indicates that it is handicapped accessible.
