From this boutique hotel's location you can walk to all of the plazas, shopping, cultural sites, and lots of good restaurants. The staff was pleasant and helpful. They spoke enough English to go with our Spanish. The room had recently been renovated and was fine. It was a good size, but not a big brassy luxury room. There is a big sign and construction saying Sheraton next door, but no one was working during our 3 day stay. Either he Huentala is expanding or another hotel is being built. We booked a winery trip through the hotel which worked out, but then used the same tour company to take a high country trip the next day. It was supposed to be bi-lingual, but the guide made it clear that although she would accommodate us, it was a Spanish tour. We were fine, but did not like the attitude that obviously we expected special treatment. This was not the hotel's fault, and we had asked because the city travel bureau had told us to watch out for this problem. We are from the U.S. but living and working in South America. We booked our stay at the Huentala Hotel after a recommendation from the landlord of the apartment we rented for our Buenos Aires stay. We too would recommend this hotel. as being quiet and convenient with a pleasant staff. Breakfast was included in the cost. Mendoza is a lovely medium size city surrounded by beautiful scenery. including the highest peak in all of the Americas. It is definitely worth a visit. I wish we had had another day there.

Enjoyed 6 night stay here at the begining of February. Initially shown to a smoking room but had no problem changing to non smoking immediately. Nice room with good sized bathroom. I agree with other reviews that the soundproofing is not very good. Breakfast was good with good choice. We ate dinner in the Bistro one night which was ok but not fab.
Be warned they are building a new Sheraton hotel next to this hotel and it was extemely noisy in the reception, bar and restaurant area at times, though we were out most of the day so it was not a problem for us.
There is lots to do in Mendoza and the surrounding area so do stay for as long as posssble. I found it to be a great little city to chill out in.
Do go into the mountains
Do do a wine tour. Ampora wine tours very good though a bit pricey.
Lots of great restaurants, Azarfan and La Barra my favourites
If there is a soccer game on definitely go. We were lucky Boca Juniors were playing River Plate when we were there and it was an experience I wont forget.
Huentala is a good hotel in good location, things will be better when building work finished next door, though I have to add the Sheraton is huge compared to eveything else around it and for me looks out of place.
