Hot and cold running hookers, drunk Saudis, incompetent staff and management - what else do you want? Inedible food, outrageous Internet fees, and a decor that is early-Gandhi. I booked a 1 week business meeting here - the 9th floor Boardroom they called it - it is actually a dance floor - and I felt I had to apologize every day to our meeting participants for the facilities and the staff. Every one of us had major complaints which management simply ignored. We were greeted by hookers when we arrived and they were still there a week later when we left. I found out in Riyadh that this hotel is well-known among Saudis who come here for the weekend to [--] and get drunk. Had I known about the hotel's reputation, I would have stayed away. If you think I'm exagerrating, then either you don't know Saudis or you've never been here. The 'dining' selections in the immediate area are limited to a McDonalds, Subway, Dairy Queen and a couple of pizza joints. The US navy base is 200 yards away, and the area basically caters to them and to the hookers.

Came to BAhrain on a one-day stop over.
the choice was between some holiday Resort or large Hotel Chain.
Ramee Intl. seemed suspiciously low priced but the 5 stars could not have been invented.
OK, 5 stars it was certainly not, but it is better than expected.
Approx 15 min from the airport, next to small walkable street with all fast food food joints know in the region. What else there is nearby i am not sure.
The drive-in of the Hotel and the lobby looks not too promising but hold on until you get to the rooms. I was given a suite style two room place. large plasma screens in both rooms. high ceilings, clean, comfortable king size bed, small desk and a clean big enough bathroom in the standard Hotel style.
the front desk staff is very friendly, the breakfast cafe is OK, the other restauants and pub ("rock bottom pub") i have not tried. As another reviewer has correctly stated, the Internet is unnecessarily expensive and above 2nd floor there is only LAN cable but no wireless.
Altogether, for a day trip without no business around it is a very good place for 33 BHD (online via HRS.de). If you need a representative place with International Standard than the Ramee will just not be enough.
