Stayed in the Himalaia last year and thought that was poor, it wasn't compared to this one.
Good points plenty of lifts, good views of slopes and close to gondola, thats all folks.
Bad points (I hope I have enough space):
Rooms in need of repair, the balcony door didn't lock and never could have, and generally worn out.
Reception staff were useless, one even tried to do us out of 1 of our 16 rooms. It really does beggar belief as 2 of our party couldn't go (although paid in full) they tried to swindle us out of a room.
Bar staff (ok the one bloke wasn't too bad) but the others were slow and even rude at times. The one didn't know the times of the happy hour. One of our party did ask the one bar person if it was happy hour, they replied yes, so he asked why were they not smiling then. The entertainment was dreadful.
Restaurant staff again one of the younger lads was ok, but the others were boring and useless.
Restaurant Food (save the best to last - Ha Ha) how anyone can turn basic food into poor food simply just by cooking it is completely beyond me. Chicken served frozen in the middle, pork under cooked, poultry undercooked, sausages undercooked. I lived on salad and chips, plus jelly and ice cream (so not all bad eh). Other tasty things such as bullet peas, mash potato you needed to eat with a spoon as it would slip through a fork. Oh nearly forgot the soup (different sort each night) when inquired as to what type the answer was always traditional.
I could go on but even I am bored now.
It is hotels like this that make me wonder why we don't stay away, especially when the general feed back is so poor. My excuse is that I was with a large party, however never again.

I stayed at the hotel piolets with family and friends for 7 days in January 2007.
The location was fantastic, close enough to the ski lifts to have that little extra lie in and also to get home again when your feet are aching in the evening! There were great views of the slopes from the rooms at the back of the hotel and from the bar terrace (which was lovely in the sun).
The rooms were fine, there was enough space for all our clothes and the bathroom was extremely clean - the bath and shower were both brilliant! There is a ski hire shop and lockers downstairs in the hotel which was really useful!
The food was also lovely! Breakfast consisted of hot and cold foods inclusing omlettes made to order. Dinner was also good, some nights were better than others but there was always something that everyone liked - if in doubt they always had pasta dishes, salad and sauce-free meat dishes. On some nights they even served lobster! The waiting staff were very attentive though during busy times it took slightly longer to get their attention. We never had to wait for a table even though there was 6 of us. The hotel bar was good value as it served extremely large measures of spirits! The cocktails were also nice, if not very strong, but were more expensive. It also served a range of light snacks such as biscuits and crisps.
There is an Italian restaurant downstairs if you didn't want to eat from the buffet (which we did!), another bar downstairs (which was more lively with members of the public entering from the street) and also another ski equipment shop. There were plenty of areas with chairs and sofas around the bar to relax, and there was a computer with internet (at a cost) though it was broken when we were there (as were the payphones!).
The lesuire facilities were nice, though the cost of 12 Euros meant you had to stay and get your moneys worth! On some days you get to use just the pool for free so make sure you ask, though we paid the extra on our last day and made the most of the outside jacuzzi and the steam room/sauna!
The staff were very friendly, though not all of them spoke much English. I actually left my purse in the hotel and had to contact them when I was home to get them to post it to me, which they did without a fuss!
All in all reccommended for the great location and facilities!
