I have stayed at this hotel on quite a few occasions and have always had a clean room, great food and polite staff. I have been there during a fire alarm before, however it happens (usually by thoughtless guests tampering with smoke detectors) and this particular time it was dealt with efficiently. We have dined in the restaurant several times and on two occasions particulary, had outstanding meals and we are very well travelled. We are looking forward to another great evening in May.

Nice hotel, stayed there on recommendation. Not overly impressed on arrival, the staff where not overly friendly but it was a comfortable and clean room altho freezing cold. We had attended a wedding reception that evening and returned back to the Hotel around 2am. At approximately 4.30am the fire alarm went off, all guests evacuated the building and a member of staff was doing a role call, unfortunately (quite disturbing really) my partner and I were not on the role call!! It was a false alarm, one of the guests informed us that it was a prank having witnessed several rather worst for wear guests tampering with the fire alarm. This was told to the night receptionist but nothing was done about it. We were eventually able to reire back to our rooms but had to indure several more alarms sirening which was not relaxing. In the morning we went down for breakfast at 10.10am, very dissapointing, the food was barely warm (no exageration) and the staff seemed quite lethargic. When it came to us checking out there was no apology about the night before, when I enquired as to the fire!! I was told it was on one of the floors but couldn't be told where!! When I spoke to the Operations Manger he told me it was a false alarm!! Not impressed at all to be honest. Again, it's a nice clean hotel but they need to train their staff in dealing with guests in a friendly manner and to be honest as honesty is alwasy the best policy.
