Best Western Russell Hotel - Maidstone, United Kingdom 

Recently stayed here for one night. Room was very big and spacious, extremely high ceilings! The bathroom was basic,but had an opening window, which allowed natural light in. This made a nice change from dark,dimly lit bathrooms you normally get in hotels. The bed was quite uncomfortable, really bouncy and a few springs sticking out. The pillows were really hard too. They really need to update the matress. The shower was pretty poor, make sure you don't flush the loo before you step in as you will have problems with the flow from the shower head. The hotel is really noisy. There are only stud walls between you and the corridors as they were probably once huge rooms that have been split into seperate bedrooms. The corridors are boiling hot and the rooms have no airconditioning. So you have to sleep with the windows open which can be noisy. The corridors are really shabby and not very clean. It would benefit from a good lick of paint. On a good note, the breakfast room is lovely and the food is wonderful. One of the best and freshest breakfasts I have had in a hotel. Overall, an average hotel, but very overpriced for what it is. Stay in the premier inn up the road!

Nice hotel, but like some of the other reviews I found it loud. There was a wedding and although the staff said the top floor would be quiet, it wasn't. The music stops around 11/12 but started at like 6! Also then you have the drunk people shouting in the corridors. Another bad point is the squashy beds, please get some new mattresses! But the bathroom was lovely, spotless too. Staff are nice, friendly, okay. Great location.
