The Dylan Amsterdam - Amsterdam, Netherlands 4 star hotel

Address: Keizersgracht 384, Amsterdam, 1016 GB
The Dylan Amsterdam details:  One of the world’s first boutique hotels to open in 1999, The Dylan is still a landmark hotel in terms of style and service. The Dylan is housed in a historic 17th century building in the heart of Amsterdam.

The 41 rooms and suites offer guests a choice of atmospheres from rich and dramatic to cool and calm. The Dylan Restaurant serves a menu of contemporary French cuisine.

All rooms are non smoking!
Smoking is only allowed in the Bar, Lounge and the Garden.

The Dylan was designed by the renowned British interior designer, Anouska Hempel. She cleverly blended the period features of the 17th century building with modern, stylish and sometimes quirky touches. Anouska Hempel also gave parts of the interior a strong Asian feel with her dramatic use of a black and white palette, theatrical lighting and furnishings sourced from Japan and China.

The public areas of The Dylan have recently been refreshed and extended by the international design award winning company FG stijl to take the Dylan to a higher level. The Lounge has been redesigned to provide a relaxed, intimate space for drinks or informal meetings while the bar is one of Amsterdam’s hippest hangouts. A new private room with a connecting glazed courtyard provides a large, flexible and dramatic space ideal for presentations, meetings, cocktail parties or dinners.

All rooms are non smoking!

Location

The Dylan is located on ‘Keizersgracht’, one of Amsterdam’s most famous and most picturesque canals. The hotel is a short stroll or boat ride from some of the city’s main attractions.

Rooms

The Dylan offers 41 luxuriously appointed rooms and suites, which are all unique and are up to 75 square metres in size. Some enjoy stunning views over the canal while others overlook the stately interior courtyard. Some of the suites are arranged over two floors and others offer features such as four poster beds, freestanding marble tubs and flat screen televisions.

Many of The Dylan’s regular guests have their favorite room or suite whether it is the exposed wooden beams, relaxing natural colors and crisp white bed linen of the Loft Suites or the warm ginger and tumeric colours, black mahogany floors and Asian detailing of the La Carmona Suites. Some choose the fresh, light and airy atmosphere of The Garden Room with its palette of greens, lavender & rosemary and stunning limestone bathroom while the bolder go for the heady romance of the flamboyantly colored and draped Klasbol Suites decorated in vibrant raspberry reds and cool greys.

We had the pleasure of spendning 3 night?s at The Dylan in May 01-04. We reserved two completely different roomcategories, one stadard duplex. The duplex has a minimalistic white design, spacious with bathroom on the second level. We also reserved the Manhattansuite, Hempels masterpiece and personal replica, 45 sqm. The Manhattan is a designersdream, black & gold with beautiful woodenfloor in dark Mahogany. The Suite is located on the second floor with 5 magnificent large windows facing the Zen garden, draped with hundreds of meters of tafted silk. A lot of heart and compassion was put in to the Manhattansuite when it was designed, no question about that. Recently FG Stilj made a fantastic job remodeling all public areas. Fantastic and very tastfully done. As the owner of TDG Design Group and with a lot of exerience in "hard" design, i will give The Dylan a 5 out of 5, this is without no doubt the best boutique hotel in Europe. Finally, maybe the most important Dylan access: The staff Kind, helpfull and always one step a head. We are looking forward staying at The Dylan soon again, Best Regads P.G. Tor?us (Sweden)

We stayed in the Dylan for two nights in May and I couldn't recommend this hotel more. It is very centrally located (close to main shopping, restaurants, sights) and the styling and decor are top class. The rooms are luxurious and spacious with a well equipped bathroom (although shower did have some hot/cold issues). The main positive I have about this hotel however is the friendliness and helpfulness of the staff. Great for a short stay, although its central location means it lacks some of the facilities you see in top hotels (pool, spa etc).
