NH Barbizon Palace - Amsterdam, Netherlands 

This hotel has some serious customer service problems. I have never in my life met a bartender as rude and vicious as the one that served us. Needless to say we never went back into the hotel bar for drinks again. I asked others in our party thinking it was just an off day and they said he was just as nasty the night before. One morning we had the Do Not Disturb sign on the door. Housekeeping knocked on the door waking us up and since I wasn't fast enouph for them they called on the phone and would not let me go. We told them to please leave our room alone today and later when we were out they came in anyway! A Concierge was also rude to one of our party .

Excellent choice of hotels in Amsterdam. Located right across from Central Station. Which is what we needed since we were carrying around luggage and using the train from Schipol was the best way to get into the city. The hotel itself was magnificent. Very clean, large rooms. Would have liked a street view, but we were never in the room long enough so it didn't really matter. The older Concierge was a brilliant man. Very knowledgeable and never blinked an eye with all of our questions. Even the younger one's were very pleasant and willing to answer our questions. Didn't eat there because we found it much more fun to grab something on one of the many, narrow streets while walking. We only had one full day in Amsterdam. I would recommend at least 2. Will certainly go back and Barbizon Palace will be our choice in hotel.
