Golden Tulip Amsterdam Centre - Amsterdam, Netherlands     

This was a clean hotel with just enough ambience in the lobby to make it feel that you were staying in a quality place. We got a good deal so it was worth the money. The rooms were a bit small but the bed was very large and the bathroom nice and clean. We paid for a superior room but it was no different than the one our friends got for the regular price. I think it had a throw at the bottom of the bed and that was it. The double bed was really two singles pushed together. We didn't have breakfast but there is a choice of places to eat nearby and everything you might wish to see is within reasonable walking distance. If you are taking children beware of the TV as there are clips of hardcore porn if you scroll through the channels. It is Amsterdam after all, probably not the best place to take the kids.

The hotel was extremely nice and we were relieved we were staying there compared to some of the other hotels we were considering. Just outside the front of the hotel are plenty of chairs and tables etc and you can purchase food & drink for nearby bars etc. The overall location was great as was just 5-10 mins walk (depending on how much luggage you have got) from the train station and only a few minutes walk to places such as Dam Square etc. Only a minute away you could catch a tram and pretty much go anywwhere so this was great too. The rooms were very clean and tidy and the staff were really friendly and helpful. The only drawback to the hotel is how much they try and charge for breakfast, 20?. Not a chance just go for a short walk and there are plenty of places to eat for more like 6?. Overall would highly recommend to anyone.
