Bedroom bright yellow, bathroom bright orange ! ! Breakfast ok if you enjoy rubbery eggs and soggy toast ! Tried to get a drink from the bar and after 10 minutes gave up -- no staff. Lancaster a lovely City but my husband and I won't be using this hotel again !

I know Lancaster well having been a student there decades ago. The Kings Arms was faded and shabby genteel back in the early 1980s and doesn't seem to have been updated since.
Location is good, but that's about it. Poor linens. Room small and fusty. Peculiar smell from the drain of the sink in the bathroom. Clueless staff - who tried very hard to be helpful but basically didn't really know what was going on.
Breakfast was OK - not good but not particularly bad either. Just average.
Parking is ridiculous btw - might as well resign yourself to paying down in the local NEC multistory.
For the price I'm afrad it's not worth it. Same comfort level etc available at most B&Bs at less than half the price.
