El Greco Hotel - Chania, Greece     

This was my fourth trip to Chania, and my first time staying at the El Greco and I will never stay anywhere else! My family had eight rooms, and all were very large and quite clean, and most a balcony. The staff was incredibly nice, and has a small travel agency across the road so are a great source for help with rental cars, ferry tickets, excursions, etc. They offer a breakfast buffet, if you choose it, as well as free internet access via a computer in the lobby. And, finally, the location is great. It's a very short walk from the harbor in the old town, and that small distance means it's much, much quieter than hotels right on the water. Absolutely no complaints!

My family (two kids, myself and husband) stayed for a week and truly enjoyed it. The street was right behind the harbor, but very quiet at night. The rooms were clean (though they lacked Greek charm), the lobby was large with a guest computer w/internet access, and the staff at the front desk was always helpful. Once, we asked them to phone a local Greek relative for us (our Greek, not so good) and the clerk was happy to be our interpreter. Most rooms had at least a small balcony, some a very large one. They were clean with a small fridge and TV. For the price, you can't hardly beat it.
