I stayed at this hotel with my family as a teenager in the 70's and returned in August of 2006 with my own family I couldn't believe the change. The old antique style hotel with the original iron elevator had disappeared and in its place- a modern luxe boutique hotel. The rooms are small but that is to be expected in Paris. The decor was chic and the kids loved the flat screen TV. We had one double and one triple room. The triple had a foldaway in addition to the double. It was nice to have a fridge and we put it to good use after visiting a grocery and bakery nearby. The toiletries looked high-end. The Arc of Triumph is a block away, as are many shops, restaurants, and the Metro. The staff is friendly and helpful. They gave me directions to a very modern laundromat nearby. My main complaints are the lack of a shower curtain (you can imagine what the bathroom was like after 3 teenagers showered) and the loud noise caused by the hallway door closing in the area where we were staying. It seems to be jammed and there is a loud POP when closed. Overall, we had a good stay, but I hope they fix that door.

I have stayed on a business trip in the Montfleuri for one night, Oct 10th to Oct 11th. I just posted a different review and wanted to have a look on other traveller's oppinions on this hotel. Actually I wondered if we were staying in different properties. ;-) The Hotel itslef rates it 4* (plate on the entrance & website). For a leading country like France this should set some expectations, on which the hotel could not live up from my point of view.... Plus I paid ~150€ for it and was honestly surprised that the hotel is listed on TripAdvisor with 280$ which it really would not be worth in my eyes! First the positives: -The Location is great. Walking distance to Arc de Triomphe and Champs Elyssee, lots of nice spots around. BUT be aware of traffic if your room is facing the street! -The staff was generally kind and english-speaking. BUT once you complain about aynthing they seem to be pissed off by the pure fact someone issues a complaint. -The room was clean & modern, especially the bath and bed. BUT the bed coat was really dirty and I had no shower curtain at all, so taking a shower ment to set the bath partly under water. So yes, it IS a modernized boutique hotel in a nice location with kind staff. Still as you see, there are some BUTs behind the facts for me. Addiitonally, being a quite old house makes it narrow, which in some aspects is cozy (like the reception/bar/dining area), but in other aspects provides some insecurity with narrow floors, not up-to-date evacuation opportunities etc. Is is well modernized (nice beds, flat TV), but the bathes have been installed into former parts of the room, e.g. my bath seemed to be a former wardrobe (not kidding). Sill nicely done, due to this fact there is no real way to separate the bath from the sleeping area, only a rolling wooden plate-kind-of-thing. The breakfast I would personally rate rather minimalistic. Everything was there for a french breakfast (croissants, marmelade, coffee, juice), but no comparision to a "real" breakfast buffet wih a vast selection of food in my oppinion. Still there are two issues that really where downturnes for me: -The reception promised to arrange a taxi service for us in the morning. First they good the tme wrong (8am instead of 8:30am), then we were having to take two parties of two into one taxi (which was crowded). I would not complain about tis if we had not booked it the other day in advance, so I would really expect a good hotel to deliver! -The Hotel had an air condition, but the one in my colleagues room did not wirk at all and when I turned down mine in the evening it magically sprang to live again every ~3h. I really expect a good hotel to have full control of its equipment and have it in ordered maintenance! All in all I was originally thinking of rating it just 2* ("okay, but some problems"). Keeping in mind the other reviews I pushed it up to 3* ("neutral). Still, I would recommend the Hotel only for one or two nights on the basis of the ~150€, but surely not for a) a longer stay or b) a higher price.
