Stayed at the Melia Berlin, excellent hotel very modern and spotless. Breakfast was good value with a loyalty card buy one breakfast for 14 euros get one free, there was pleanty of choice both hot and cold. The hotel is ideally located for Brandenburg Gate and Check Point Charlie, the museum is worth a visit. I enjoy December because of the Christmas Markets. Upon arrival at Schonenfield take train S9 2.40 euros to Frederick Strasse Hotel is on corner opposite station, there was no noise disturbance. There is a tapas bar in the hotel which we didnt try but it looked very popular. Went to a indian rest. Amrit, turn right out of main foyer and walk approx 500 yds to Oranienburger strasse dont have a starter as the main courses are huge. There is a Irish Bar en route so handy for a night cap.
