Hotel AGON Frankfurter Allee - Berlin, Germany 3 star hotel

Address: Scharnweberstrasse 21-22, Berlin, 10247
Hotel AGON Frankfurter Allee details:  The Agon Hotel Frankfurter Allee presents you one of the hippest districts of Berlin right at your doorstep. With its various bars and clubs, exotic stores and restaurants, Berlin-Friedrichshain attracts not only visitors but also young Germans and the "scene" of Berlin. Around the Boxhagener Platz and the Simon-Dach-Strasse you find the young Berlin – unorthodox, innovative and not at all boring!

Immerse in the vibrant city life of Friedrichshain or visit the new "Mitte" of Berlin with Alexanderplatz, Museum Island and Hackesche Höfe, which is only a few minutes away.

The hotel was reopened in 2003. During renovation we took care of the historic building fabric and tried to preserve the charm of this classicistic house. The modern elements combined with historic features gives this hotel a stylish yet timeless character.

As modern, contemporary business hotel it offers all latest standards in communications. As a matter of course, each of the rooms provides internet access via ISDN, modem and WLAN.

We stayed 5 nights in the hotel. Good points: Room was clean and hotel is close to public transport. Bad points: Hotel is situated in not so good neighborhood. There was noise until late in the night (drunks, punkers and some anti social youth) and from early in the morning (building site just beside the hotel). The only option was to close the windows which was not very pleasant since it was very warm and there is no air-conditioning in the room. Upon arrival there was no space at hotel parking to park our car, so we had to park our car in the neighborhood. Result: in the first night one of our wheel caps was stolen. Walking around in the neighborhood we saw quite some cars with one or several wheel caps missing. Even asking the present local alcoholics did not help to find out wheel cap. The 2nd day we asked if there was a hotel park space available. We received the spare spot (for 5 euro per night). After staying 5 nights in the hotel, upon departing we found our car completely covered with bird droppings and some sticky substance that came from the tree it was parked under. Since later during our stay there were several free spaces, hotel staff could have given us a different spot saving us a drive home in a very, very dirty car and a visit to the car cleaner. Instead, the only thing they gave us was the bill for the parking spot.

Stayed here for 3 nights in April 08. Lovely hotel, close to transport system, about 5 min walk. Room was spotless, breakfast was good also. We stayed in room no 7, across the courtyard, good size and bathroom fine. Staff friendly though the price of alcohol in the bar is more expensive compared with other places. Also, bottled water from reception is ?3 and the local shop cost is ?1.30. Overall, good hotel, good location and good value for money.
