We were transferred to the Cranley after our original hotel was overbooked. We went from a three star to a four star hotel. Because of this, I cannot speak to the costs of the Cranley. We stayed in a fourth floor double, as some of the tripadvisor reviewers would call it, up in the attic. We found the room to be average in size, with a great view east over South Kensington. The air conditioner (a rarety for a London hotel) worked well, although we really didn't have need for it as the weather was quite mild. There is a limited number of cable channels provided, maybe 10 or so. There was a minibar in the room as well. The bathroom, which had only a shower, was of decent size. The bed was very comfortable. The elevator only goes up to the third floor, but the additional flight of stairs was not troublesome at all. Breakfast is not included. You can fill out a form and put it outside your door if you'd like to order breakfast and it will be served in your room, as the Cranley has no dining room. The price was 12 pounds (we are not sure if that was per person, or per room) and from the looks of trays sitting outside in the hall, is pretty substantial. Another fee is that internet is available for a cost of 10 pounds per day. The hotel offers free tea in the afternoon and then champagne and hors d oeuvres in the evening. Probably the greatest asset of the Cranley is its location. It is almost equidistant from three different tube stations (South Kensington, Gloucester Square, and Earl's Courtf) and only blocks away from great shopping and restaurants.

The Cranley is a boutique hotel in a great location. Our executive king room was spacious and very clean with a beautiful bathroom. The staff is kind and tries to be helpful, there is not real concierge to speak of and room service is just OK, but there are so many good restaurants in walking distance that it did not bother us too much.
