We booked online for pre cruise stay. Outside appearance very deceiving. Smelled bad. First room was dirty, beds not made, towels on floor. Went back to lobby & requested new room. They apologized & gave us new room. But they didn't act surprised. The beds were awful, at least 20 years old. The safety latch on door was broken. The shower was dirty & I did not use. Not a nice area. Strange characters stay & hang out here. This room should go for no more than $40. When we checked in & it was too late to find anything else. We left first thing in the morning.

Stay away from this property. The dog oder in the loby should have been my first clue. The stale smell in the hallway should have been my second clue. It was late and we only stayed one night. The noise from the trains is loud and often. They have a sign at the front desk warning you of this and if you stay at this property, insist on a room on the West side away from the tracks. Bath had lots of mildew, shower curtain rod was broken, small roach crawled across the floor and the TV remote did not work. Again, it was late when we checked in, and we where very tired, or we would have left. To be fair, when checking out the next morning the front desk staff did ask how our stay was. As I was descibing the deficiencies, they oftered $20 off, and then a full refund. I settled for 1/2 off since we did spend the night. So I do complement the staff for trying to do right, but the property should still be avoided. Also the RR internet rate is about 15% lower than the walkin rate, so make RR reservations via the internet before using any RR property. My other RR experiences have always been good...
