The Residenza d'Epoca Palazzo Fani is inside the walled city less than two blocks from the main plaza. The rooms were comfortable and clean, overall, better than average. We booked a quad room which turned out to be a room with a bed and a very small hide a bed. So small we had to get a roll-a-way bed. The hotel is actually the upper floors of a multi story building so is difficult to find. In fact, we returned late in the evening and had a difficult time finding the hotel, the external doors were closed and with no signs so we experienced some panic finding the hotel. Also, finding the hotel was problem, especially if you are driving. We had a very difficult time finding a place to park and had to walk a number of blocks hauling our luggage. We had to park at the soccer stadium outside the walls which is not convenient to the hotel. Departing was also an issue. The hotel instructed us on how to drive into the town but this ended up being a nightmare...one way narrow streets and pedestrians resulted in one and a half hours for what should have been a fifteen minute pick up. Getting past all the logistics the location is extremely well suited to see Sienna. One can easily walk to the Duomo and the plaza is a block and a half away.

Located in the center of Siena. Very close to il Campo and Duomo. The hotel has a strange entry and the elevator is located in the back of a walk through area. Once you get to the 3rd floor you're ok. Front desk is very kind and helpful. They will do anything to improve your stay. Rooms are dated but clean and quaint. We had a good stay here and very much enjoyed the city.
