Central Park Hotel - London, United Kingdom 

Just back home today. This hotel is close to the tube/shopping/restaurants/Kensington Gardens, but that's where the good news ends. The staff were badly trained, had no concept of customer focus and were ignorant of hotel policy and pricing. There was a constant queue at reception due to inefficiency. At one point 2 girls at reception were attempting to reattach a cuff button in front of me while I watched. TV/Safe were broken in the room, items were not replenished in the room following room service, and the room was lazily cleaned (bath/taps were given a wide berth by the cleaning staff apparently). The breakfast was what I would expect from a greasy spoon, not a 3 star hotel. We booked 2 rooms, when the key to one of the rooms failed, and I called to request another key, I was sarcastically quizzed as to how I could possibly be calling them if I was locked out (I was calling from the other room). The Room windows are extremely unsafe for small children. To cap things off, my 3:45AM wake up call called me at 3:25 - 20 minutes early. I'ld like to think this was intentional but I don't think it was. Avoid this hotel please. This is the first hotel review I've ever written, but in travelling across Europe and the US I've never encountered anything as bad as this.

My husband and I stayed at the Central Park Hotel this past February. Just as we had expected, the hotel is a good choice for those who plan on a lot of sight seeing and little time in the room. The location was great in walking distance to the tube stations and across the street from Hyde Park. The room was a good base for us to enjoy the beautiful city of London.
