Very conveniently located to explore but that is its best point aside from the garage. Very tired and dated hotel, needs a good makeover. The porter broke the door frame of the first room so we switched to another. Small bathrooms but functional. Would not stay there again.

Easily reached on foot from Trani's train station, the Hotel Royal is also within a pleasant walking distance (perhaps 15 or 20 minutes) to Trani's harbor and its magnificent cathedral. Delightful English-speaking desk staff appeared to take pleasure in helping their guests enjoy their city, and the waiter who served breakfast had a charming knack for making people laugh. The breakfast buffet included a nice selection of foods and was served in a lovely room with a wall of garden-side windows. My room was quite, comfortable, and nicely appointed.
