Rhodos Beach Hotel - , Greece     

We stayed at this hotel for a week 5-12 September and were very pleasantly surprised not only with the hotel but with Rhodes itself as we had never been before. First the Hotel: It took only 20 mins to get to the hotel by taxi at a cost of 17euro. Although we arrived at 1.15 am there were plenty of taxis at the rank. We had a swift check in and were given a key to our room on the 3rd floor no: 310 which was one of the bigger rooms with a direct sea view. The room was spotless and simply decorated in blue and white. We had a large bathroom with toiletries provided and the room had a fridge which you could fill with your own goodies. Air conditioning is provided and does not incur an additional charge which is good, however, you have to rent your safety deposit box and a kettle if you want one. The breakfast at the hotel has a good selection of hot and cold foods, cereals, yogurts etc; andis more than adequate although I do feel they could extend the times from 9.30 am to 10.30 (minor whinge from a sleep lover). There is a good supermarket attached to the hotel and hotel staff are very efficient friendly and will answer any questions happily. The hotel is across the road from a great stretch of beach called windy beach and is aptly named although I found the mild wind a godsend and it is brilliant for getting a tan. The beach is pebbly but the water is turquoise I would advise people to invest 6 euro in some beach shoes to make getting in and out of the sea easier.Rhodes has a stunning walled old town about a 20 min walk away with beautiful shops and restaurants, however, the new town has dozens of restaurants also and are much better value. There is no shortage of things to see and places to relax Mike and Ana at the Tivloi bar are great fun and serve very reasonably priced drinks(large beer 2 euro!) their bar is just up from a popular restaurant called Jason which also looks very popular. Scalinis in the new town is excellent for food and great value. All in all we were delighted with our trip to Rhodes and will definately be going back.

We stayed here in May 2007 for 2 nights and we paid 33 Eur per night. It's a steal at the price. The room was pretty nice, no fancy decor, but it was a good size and absolutely clean and there was a small balcony too (partial sea view). The price included BF, which was again pretty good. Friendly staff and convenient location. About 20 mins walk to the old town, the beach is right across the road, plenty of restaurants, supermarkets, car/scooter hires nearby. The restaurant also has a cafe and bar, there isn't too much variety in the food menu, but the food was decent and inexpensive and so were the drinks. We would definitely stay here again.
