Hotel Vondel - Amsterdam, Netherlands 

We stayed in the hotel for romantic weekend in Amsterdam. The hotel is located in a perfect spot, near to the centre and the museums. Our room was perfect, we had airco and the bathroom had a jacuzzi. There was also a lovely garden, were we enjoyed our drinks. Breakfast was good and the staff was very helpfull to make our weekend perfect!

So this Hotel is all about the ROOM you get! First I was put into a single room, now I have travelled solo my entire trip and bunk beds just dont cut it for me. The room was so small my luggage had a hard time to get through. So I upgraded to a double (for an extra 15 euros a night) So it went from famine to feast! Great big room, beautifully decorated, great rain shower. So this is one of those hotels where you almost want to spend all your time there! Very beautiful. I found myself just laying on the bed watching the greenry from those great large windows. My gripes were that the walls are super thin and it had no air con. It was actually hot that week in AMS, I had friends staying in the same hotel in a different room and they had air con, so again its about the room you get. Also the walls are super thin so you want a room at the end of a corridor or you get woken up at 8.30 by staff walking and talking outside your door. The staff also let the hotel down as a whole. It felt almost 5 star with a 3 star staff. But overall highly recommended ... just request a a room, in the new section, at the end of the hall! You'll love it.
