Hotel Colorado is a nice 1 star hotel recently restored. It belongs to the florentine chain Welcome Hotels. The hotel, easily to reach by walk from the train station S.M.Novella, is in via Cavour, very close to the main monuments and museums in Florence: The Dome (Santa Maria del Fiore), the Giotto’s bell tower, the David of Michelangelo. You will receive a warm and informal welcome at the Hotel Colorado. Reception is open from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m.

1.The Hotel Colorado is at the 2nd floor of a building without lift
2.The Reception is open from 8am to 8pm. If you need to arrive after 8pm, please advise us in order to get organised. After the check-in you will have your key and you can come in and out at any time.
3.Rooms are available after 12pm and before 8pm.
4.The months of April, May, June, September,October and New Years Eve and Easter are high season.
5.If you wish to visit the Uffizi Gallery we recommend to reserve the entrance at least 2 or 3 weeks in advance.
6.You can park your car only outside the historical city center, on the street (paying blue lines) or in a parking. The closest parking is in Piazza della Libertà , the name is Parterre.
7.Each time you arrive at the hotel by car, please inform the reception and leave the registration number of your car.
8.In order to confirm a booking we always need a credit card number and expiry date to keep only as garantee.

Given the price of the Hotel Colorado that we managed to get on venere.com, we weren't expecting 4 star accommodation- in fact, we were expecting 1 star...
The hotel was easy to find, and close to the centre of florence, as advertised. When we arrived our room wasn't ready but they let us get changed and washed and leave our bags witht hem until we wnated to check in, which was fine for us.
The room was large, generally clean, with everything you needed and we felt that their service was warm and efficient.
a lovely breakfast and an easy check out and again they let us leave our bags until we were leaving florence.
Expect what you're paying for and you'll be really pleased, as we were. We'd visit again!

The Good..It is a good location for accesssing al amenities, especially the Statue of David. Also, check-in staff were very helpful.
The Bad..Breakfast was very poor, stale coffee and bread rolls were the order of the day! The hotel is also situated several floors up with no lift or porter facilities.
The Ugly...we discovered a nice surprise of a used condom packet in the desk drawer, which doesnt exactly demonstrate their eye for detail.
