Grand Hotel Pianeta Maratea - Maratea, Italy     

I found this hotel to be very over priced and very run down! We specifically asked when we arrived if the air conditioner worked really well because it was very, very hot. They reassured us that it did work extremely well. We were woken up in the middle of the night by the oppressive heat in the room. We called the front desk and they said wait a few minutes. No one ever came and it did not improve. We opened our windows to cool us and the room down. The next day when I asked for a discount because the air conditioner did not work they gave us a tiny discount. Besides the air conditioner issue the curtain in our room was not wide enough to cover the entire window and it was falling off one end of the curtain rod. The hair dryer in the bathroom had a big crack in the hose and also did not work. I informed the manager of our issues to which he just shrugged his shoulders. We also felt that the meals were way over priced and the kid pool was not in working order. Do I need to go on? I would not advise anyone to stay at this hotel!
