This was our first visit to Italy and we did not know anything about Hotel Posta or the Reggio-Emilia area when we booked it on a travel website. After stepping off the train and taking the taxi through the pedestrian friendly streets to the old center part of town we were totally charmed by the ambiance.
Hotel Posta is a very old building that has been beautifully restored. The room had a seperate sleeping room and a sitting room.
Breakfast was incredible - served in a large room with fresh flowers. They had all the northern Italy specialties - parma ham, parmiaggiano, delicious pastries and fresh coffee.
The front staff was very friendly and polite.
Reggio-Emilia is an incredible undiscovered part of Italy. It does not have any of the frenzy of the big towns with all the charm and great food.
