Best Western Montecarlo - Venice, Italy     

We stayed here at the end of August and had a good room, 201 that overlooked the laneway (see picture). The furniture was lovely with hand painted flowers. The room is small (13x13) but adequate for the two of us. We had no problem with the bathroom which had everthing a 3* should have. It was clean and everything worked! The breakfast room is smaller than most but we never had to wait. The coffee and hot chococlate were served promptly and there was plenty of food. We enjoyed the fresh fruit and the sweet buns. The decor of the breakfast room is quite classy. We were there for 4 nights and enjoyed it. The AC was very quite! The desk staff were very good and efficient always ready to help. Tip - I f you are staying for a few days, get a VeniceCard at the airport (check it out on internet). By staying at this hotel we were able to see everything we wanted plus more in a relaxed manner. We ate near the hotel (thanks for tip re yellow tablecloths) and found the food OK . Prices were fine as there are several places and the competition is keeping the prices reasonable. Tip - Don't bring more than one bag. We used one backpack! Although the ground from St. Mark's Square to the Hotel is flat with no bridges we saw others struggling with their bags. Tip - Best photo from San Giorgio"s Belltower (see picture). Using our Venice Card we took several side trips especially in the evenings on the vaporettos. The best one was to the island of Lido (see picture).

My daughter and I stayed at this hotel and loved it. The room was clean and had windows overlooking the front 'street'. It was quiet and very close to St. Mark's square. Breakfast was a nice buffet, nothing fancy, but quite adequate. The staff at the desk was charming and always helpful. We enjoyed our stay very much.
