Vecellio - Venice, Italy     

We have just returned from 3 nights at the Vecellio and I have to agree with all the previous excellent reviews for this little gem of a place. Transport-wise, it couldn't be better; the vaporetto stops right outside the door. Our room was lovely, as was the breakfast. Matteo is a brilliant host, and enjoys every opportunity to practice his already excellent english. If you haven't yet been to Venice, you are missing the experience of a lifetime!

My boyfriend and I have just returned from spending 2 nights at this hotel. We booked it via the Easyjet website which was considerably cheaper than the price quoted direct from hotel. Arrival at the hotel could have not been easier - the water boat leaves from just a few minutes outside the airport (well signposted) and takes approx 30-45 mins to reach Venice (2nd stop). It cost 12 euro's each way - which is quite expensive, but is the easiest way to reach hotel from airport. As previously mentioned the stop needed for the hotel is literally just a few minutes away & really couldn't be much closer. We stayed in room 6 which had plenty of room though unfortunately did not look out directly onto the lagoon - it had a side view. Air conditioning could be adjusted as needed. Breakfast was adequate but would have benefited from some cereals & fresh fruit. Location of hotel was great. You'll need a good map to help you get around because there are numerous lanes and allyways to get lost in-but that's part of the fun ! We used tripadvisor when researching where to stay and agree with the previous reports on this hotel. The staff were very friendly and I would definately recommend this hotel to family & friends thinking of visiting Venice. Loved Venice & can't wait to return. We'd certainly come back to this hotel.
