Hotel Park - Rovinj, Croatia 

Visited Park Hotel in Rovinj with my husband and parents in June 08. The hotel has a great location overlooking the sea and across to the town as it juts in to the sea. We did not have a sea view room which was a pity but, for us, it was not worth paying extra to secure one as we spend very little time in the room. The rooms were fairly small but clean, tidy and appointed with everything you need. We stayed on a B&B basis as we wanted to eat in town of an evening but I can say that the breakfast selection was excellent - catering for all tastes and prepared to high standards. The resort of Rovinj was a hit with us all too. Having taken a day trip to Porec I definitely feel that Rovinj was the better choice. Very quaint place - with houses built right in to the rocks and pretty cobbled narrow streets. A great cafe culture feel - very safe and friendly. A lot of the tourists are from the older generation and the pace of life is slow so not for you if you want a banging nightlife but ideal for those looking for a peaceful break in a lovely setting. Prices were pretty good in comparison with many other European destinations I have been to. An evening meal for 4 of us with wine/beer generally came in between 400 and 600 Kuna (depending on whether we had 1 or 2 courses etc) – that’s approximately between ?45 and ?67. A large beer tended to vary between ?1.50 and ?1.75. We were only there for a week so didn’t do too much but we took a boat trip and a coach excursion to Plitvice Lakes which was fantastic. It’s a fairly long trip on the coach but the time passed by quite well with the aid of a good guide and we did get over 4 hours there when we arrived. The trip involved a fairly long but enjoyable walk, a boat ride and a ‘train’ ride. Well worth it for the brilliant scenery. All in all, great hotel, great resort and very enjoyable, value for money holiday.
