Le Manoir Les Minimes - Amboise, France 

We've just returned to the UK after 5 glorious nights at this romantic small boutique hotel which offered us wonderful views over both the Loire and Chateau from 5 large tall fully opening windows. The hotel has plentiful and secure parking, a walled garden and is a 5 min stroll to the town centre where there is a choice of good restaurants, bars and shops. Our suite (RM 10) was spotlessly clean (as was the hotel generally) comfortable, light, airy and well furnished. The large bathroom was well equipped with 2 sinks,shower, corner bath and separate WC. The bed was very comfortable and the room well airconditioned. The furniture (a mix of antique and repro) was in good condition and the room well decorated with flowers. The housekeeping was excellent with good quality linen and towels changed as often as required. Our room was madeup whilst we were at breakfast and turned down whilst at dinner. Toiletries were plentiful and replenished. There was a minibar and safe + (if you're desperate) 2 TV's. Slippers and Robes were provided. The common parts were two well furnished lounges as well as a breakfast room along with an outdoor terrace with chairs and umbrellas where drinks are served to guests. There is no bar as such. The staff were not only friendly but extremely helpful and charming . Nothing appeared too much for them. Their attention to detail was astonishing and everything was done with a smile. To repeat that day in day out is an acomplished art . Don't miss breakfast . It was an unhurried pleasure and a wonderful start to the day. Surprisingly for a hotel of this quality there was no restaurant but the staff are expert at booking tables and each night the eating experience was simply delightful. We highly recommend L'Epicerie and Le Pavillion de Lys. This is a fabulous intimate hotel for touring the Loire. There is so much to do and to see we'll have to return. The hotel seemed to us to radiate a relaxed and friendly atmosphere which all the guests we met were receptive to. It seemed infectious to all and we lost track of time. Please note that apart from a few late night bars Amboise goes to sleep at 1030pm but this suited us as we needed the rest . We now feel rejuvinated.

Wow! What a fabulous place to stay. Cannot say enough good things about this fine establishment. We stayed in the Pavilion, upstairs. The bathroom was gorgeous. Breakfast in the manoir was elegant and sumptuous. Fantastic location near the Chateau and town. I would definitely return to this hotel.
