A friend booked us into this hotel and after reading the reviews on Tripadvisor I was dreading it but it was OK.
The location is great, close to the nightlife in Bastille and the Charonne subway station is a few mins walk. Most major sights are close and you can change at Oberkamf or Republique to other subway lines easily to get to them. The bus comes up Rue Charonne too.
I stayed in two of the rooms - 605 and 305. 605 was quieter and the walk up the steps was fairly lengthy although you can take the little lift to level 5.
The people on the front desk are nice. The breakfast is basic (nearest pub does a 2.50 Euro brekky) but ok. Bathrooms are clean.
I got no bedbugs.
We paid 75 Euro each for twin rooms which is a bargain in Paris.
