Hotel Westminster - Paris, France

I travel a lot - frequently to Paris. I have stayed at many hotels, including many of the "grand" variety and many of the "trendy" variety. The Hotel Westminster stands out as offering genuinely friendly, professional service. In fact, I have rarely experienced such a feeling of welcome at a hotel. The hotel's advantages include its exceptional staff, its outstanding location, the Duke's Bar and its restaurant, the Celadon. The new gym, on the top floor, is very nice. I stayed in a large room overlooking the Avenue de la Paix. The hotel's disadvantages are few, but include the bathrooms (which need to be remodeled for a hotel in this price range) and the decor of the rooms (which is pleasant, but which should be updated). As a non-smoker, I found the Duke's Bar to be very pleasant early in the evening, but distinctly unpleasant later, when it was taken over by cigar enthusiasts. All in all, the advantages substantially outweighed the disadvantages. I will stay there again.
