Le Pinarello - Sainte-Lucie de Porto-Vecchio, France     

We stayed here for 3 nights as part of a 6 night stay - 3 nights in the North and 3 nights in the South of the island. The hotel is decorated in a modern neutral style and is clean and attractive. The staff are friendly and welcoming and do speak English - something that we didn't come across too much on our stay - this wasn't a problem for us as with a bit of school level French and a phrase book you can muddle through and they do treat you so much more courteously! There is no pool at the hotel but it is right on the beach - loungers are free if you are a guest. Its in a small resort with plenty of places to eat which is important as the hotel only serves breakfast and lunch - no evening meals, which was a little disappointing. Breakfast was good but we were never about for lunch but it was quite pricey. Our room was a suite and spacious but there was no full length mirror or plug in the bathroom for a hairdryer so drying my hair was a bit hit and miss! The hotel is a drive away from Porto Vecchio so if you are expecting a stroll in the evening then forget it - we did think that this should be pointed out as Sainte Lucie is so small and lacking in facilities. That said it was ideal for a romantic getaway and was very relaxing - I would return there for a few days again but I think a full week may be too much.

I stayed at this hotel during a two week tour of the island staying in many hotels and this one was excellent. Right on the beach, very modern and contemporary with high quality. I cannot fault this hotel. If you really wanted to switch off for a week this is the place to come, however if you need a bit more life then do as I did and stay a few nights just to slow down. There is a lot to see and do on Corsica but sometimes you do have to just stop and this place was perfect.
