Hotel La Cumbre - El Puerto de Mazarron, Spain 

Although I have stayed in many top-class hotels, this 3 star hotel tops pretty much all of them! It just has a special 'something' - lots of cosy nooks and crannies with sofas and chairs to relax on. The whole hotel has an air of cleanliness and a very much cared-for ambience. The room I stayed in had fantastic sea views with a good sized balcony. The room itself was large and, although not state-of the art nor the most modern of rooms, had everything you may require and was absolutely spotless - and I mean spotless - not a crumb nor dirty mark in sight. Unlike a lot of older hotels, the bathroom tiles/grout was also immaculate. The grounds around the hotel are also beautiful with a separate kiddies pool with some toys etc. A lovely garden to wander around, again with great sea vistas. I would recommend it for both families and single travellers - I was on my own on my first visit but am returning soon with my family - it really is that good. Very close to the town centre too which has a beautiful beach, lovely marina and great shopping.

We were delighted with this hotel. We stayed for two nights. Room clean and comfortable with view to the town of Mazarron and the mountains. Staff very friendly. Breakfast was good: fruit juice, yoghurt, cereal, cold meats, cheese, eggs (athough hard boiled), toasting machine, jams, marmalade, various bread and croussants . Enjoyed the coffee as it was not too strong or me! Plenty to fill you up until lunch time. Did not try the restaurant as we ate out on both evenings. True, it is up a bit of a hill but we are used to that so no problem. Liked the beaches at Mazarron. Would certainly stay there again when in the area.
