Hotel am Augustinerplatz - Cologne, Germany 

Had expected a nice, modern and colourful room, got a smelly old style one. Did not stay. My worst experience in Cologne. Dark entrance too. Does not comply with german standard in my opinion.

This hotel is in a fantastic location. Its only a 10 min walk from the Cologne main train station. The easiest way to find it is to make your way over the Cathedral Dom from the main train station, walk down the main street boulevard with lots of shops on either side of the street till you get to the end. The hotel is just located there. We walked everywhere in Cologne from the hotel. The hotel itself however wasn't that great. The room that I stayed in although was clean, but it was also in need of a re-model. My friends were given a room which was 1 of 2 rooms in what would be considered the 'attic'. Their toilet was very small and cramped! So try to avoid getting a room which starts with 6 - there are only 2 rooms on that 6th floor!
