We visited Briz 2 in July 2007 with our 4 year old son. My problem was the totally opposite from the previous review, the hotel was too noisy. The pool bar was open all night with the music full blast. There was also a wedding on while we stayed which added to our discomfort, apparently the hotel is known locally for holding venues regularly.
The food in the restaurant was absolutely disgusting.
The swimming pool however was lovely and the rooms were a good size, very well furnished and cleaned on daily basis.
The nearby beach is a total mess, we were just taking taxis to St Konstantin & Elena, however if doing that order a taxi through the hotel to take you there and pick you up as the resort taxis are a total rip off.
I would gladly return to Bulgaria but maybe stay in the centre of the bigger resorts like Golden Sands or Sunny Beach.
Overall I would not recommend this hotel to anyone from UK.

We have just returned from Hotel Briz 1/9/06. Well its a lovely Hotel apart from the fact there is no Entertainment , Nightclub is closed, Skybar is closed. As for the Staff they are the most miserable people i have ever come across. Damien at the bar seems to be the only person that wants to speak to anyone. To get to the Beach from the Hotel there is 201 steps exactly believe me ive counted them.Bulgaria is known for being cheap well we were there with 2 kids age 14 & 8 we spent £2000 and the kids hardly did anything. Bulgaria is very much like Turkey without any singing & dancing. As for food ,the Hotel's food was totally catering for the German's which Bulgaria is full of. The second week we took to eating out to try and pass some time in the Evening, I must say visit the Parma bar & grill, they give you the nearsest to an English Breakfast you can get ,also serving HP brown sauce. We ate there a few times they were the only people that welcomed us & were polite to us and served half decent food.
In all i would say if you have kids give Bulgaria a miss, I wouldn't want anyone to spend their hard earned money on a holiday like we did, as you can guess we will never go to Bulgaria again it was an xpensive lesson but we learned it the hard way ie £4000 .
